Joe is a graduate of the University of York and the National Theatre Studio Directors Course. He was a finalist for the James Menzies Kitchin Award 2015. He has worked internationally and is based in London.


Joe's theatre credits as director include:

A Matter of Life and Death (Old Red Lion); Cornermen (Pleasance Edinburgh, New Diorama and VAULT); Smoke of Home (Clifford’s Tower, York; Bloomsbury Theatre and Landesbühnen Sachsen, Dresden); Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Drama Barn); Frozen (Drama Barn). 

Associate/Assistant Director credits include: 

Pinters at the Pinter (West End); Harold Pinter Birthday Gala (West End); Beginning (National, West End); A View from the Bridge (Broadway); Brassed Off! (York Theatre Royal); The Glass Menagerie (Bolton Octagon); Of Mice and Men (Bolton Octagon); Tull (Bolton Octagon).

Intern directing/Shadowing:
