About the Artwork

Dreaming of Saturday Nights is part of my Party Series — I first began creating these crowded-room scenes because I missed people — the conversations, the low hum of voices, the easy closeness that only happens in a room full of friends and near-strangers.

It started as a way of drawing the parties I wished I could be at.

But somewhere along the way, Dreaming of Saturday Nights became something else:

a celebration of those rare evenings when everyone you love seems to be in the same room.

The chats, the wine, the strange and fantastic conversations that only surface when the world softens a little.

This work has been hanging at COR in Bristol — a celebrated neighbourhood restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide three years running. Many people have written to me after seeing it there, often saying it was the piece they “kept returning to” across the room.

The original recently sold. Before it disappears into a private home, I’ve created a small edition of prints.

Why This Edition

This is the only print release I’m making this year.

I wanted to offer something intimate and grounded in my painting practice — a quiet return to the studio after months immersed in theatre.

Dreaming of Saturday Nights feels right for that.

It carries the atmosphere and emotional pulse of the Party Series, and it has already lived a public life at COR. This edition is a way of sharing that story with those who’ve connected to the piece.

Once all 20 prints are sold, the edition will close permanently.
